Emissions regulation in 2026 has brought simplicity, by removing select state by state regulations that were in addition to the federal rules. PACCAR is able to offer full 50 state compliant MX-11 and MX-13 engines with the CARB label standard at the 200mg and 50mg NOx emission levels. This simplifies the experience when configuring a truck and opens up more locations for registration. Kenworth continues to offer great warranty terms and cover major engine components in the base warranty, with optional extended terms to suit your specific needs and buying schedule.

Looking ahead to 2027, NOx reduction rules are still in place, with EPA and CARB aligning on 35mg emissions. The good news is that Kenworth will have a solution in place starting in 2027 to meet these stricter emissions, building on the experience and real customer miles of the 50mg CARB 2026 engine.

Kenworth is expecting a cost increase for the 2027 technology, along with all major OEMs, and we are anticipating a rush of orders towards the second half of 2026, so if you want to lock in the current technology, and guarantee a 2026 build slot, now is a great time to buy.

Focusing more on the 2026 powertrain lineup, the current MX-13 platform is the best MX-13 ever and has benefited from several years of emissions stability and many additional uptime, reliability, and efficiency improvements.

PACCAR's experience building compliant 2026 engines at the 50mg level, gives a great head start on the 2027 technology. Kenworth continues to offer a truck and a powertrain for every job with diesel, gasoline, CNG, and electric options available.
