A big thank you to everyone who donated to MTA’s Trucks & Toys program this year. Whether you donated your time, money, equipment or toys, you helped spread holiday joy to kids and teens in need throughout Minnesota who may have not otherwise received presents this season.

Over $19,120 came in as monetary donations through the MTA alone, along with additional toys collected by member collection sites which helped provide gifts to over 1,600 kids at 12 charities throughout the state, including the Twin Cities Metro, Duluth, Bemidji, Fairmont and New Ulm.

This year MTA has the privilege of supporting the following charities with Trucks & Toys Donations:

• People Serving People (Minneapolis)

• Kinship (Bemidji)

• Kinship (New Ulm)

• Kinship (Fairmont)

• Safe Haven Shelter (Duluth)

• Tubman (Minneapolis)

• YouthLink (Minneapolis)

• Breaking Free (St. Paul)

• Little Earth (Minneapolis)

• Women of Nations

• Women’s Source

• Emma B. Howe Northeast Family YMCA (Minneapolis)

“We are so excited to give the toys away at our holiday party and see all the happy smiles from young parents and their children,” said Carley Noyce, Development Manager at YouthLink in Minneapolis. “It’s a real gift that families we serve don’t have to worry about affording Christmas gifts for their kids on top of everything else going on in their lives during this difficult time.”

Additionally, other MTA member fleets throughout the state collected their own Trucks & Toys monetary and toy donations for children at charities in their local areas. Stay tuned on our social media for updates on their efforts!

A special thank you to Rihm Family Companies for lending a truck and trailer for Santa Dick Gillespie and our Trucks & Toys elves, Co-Chairs Kim Heins, ProDrivers, and Karol Smith, EFW to make our metro deliveries this year, and to DLI for serving as our home-base to collect all our members’ generous toy donations.
